Marmaduke has had quite an afternoon of misadventure (Marmaduke Fun Fact: Marmaduke is responsible, either directly or indirectly, for approximately 85% of all criminal activity in his town. It's true... Google it!).

Marmaduke's owner-man desperately clings to the illusion of control, but is clearly grasping at straws.

Marmaduke's owner-lady's jealousy is utterly transparent.

Marmaduke caused his owner-man to get a traffic ticket, despite the fact that he was a pedestrian at the time of the offense.

Marmaduke creator Brad Anderson has been alive for many, many, many years, and sometimes when people get really old, their minds start to get a little bit confused. Remember when Grandma tried to feed her poop to the cat? Yeah...

Don't be sad, though: Marmaduke creator Brad Anderson will be with God soon, and that's what we need to focus on in times like these.
Marmaduke has a mysterious trick where he manifests a visible, glowing angel halo over his head, which he is able to perform whenever the Reverend visits. I guess.

Marmaduke's owner-lady implies to a jowly clergyman that her giant, napping dog is going to keep him immobilized for probably the rest of the day. She also brings him tea.

Marmaduke's lazy aloofness and barely-suppressed disdain for humans are explained away by his owner-boy (who is desperately trying to save face in front of a schoolyard chum) as a sign of intelligence. Which is probably true, but we are once again reminded of the fundamental truth at the heart of nearly every installment of Marmaduke: Marmaduke is an asshole.

Marmaduke's owner-lady attempts to argue her way out of a traffic ticket using logic that points to either astonishing stupidity, enormous balls, or some combination thereof.
Marmaduke wants his owner-man to know that the TV needs to be fixed, and clearly doesn't give two shits if owner-man is otherwise engaged.
